Learn to Row Instructor Workshop
Key Features:
· Instructors teaching Learn to Row camps or lessons should take this workshop.
· After completing the workshop, the instructor is designated as “trained” in the NCCP database.
· Evaluation must take place for the instructor to receive certification.
· “Certification” is received after the instructor successfully passes the practical evaluation and the CAC’s Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation.
· Recognized by the Coaching Association of Canada in the NCCP database.
· Fits with the Learning to Train stage of the RCA Long Term Athlete Development Model/Canadian Sport for Life.
· This is not for individuals coaching crews/athletes for competition.
· The workshop is approximately 13 hours long, delivered on a weekend or during a series of weeknights.
· Learn – To – Row Instructors are expected to participate in professional development on an ongoing basis. Instructors must participate in professional development within five years to maintain certification. This could include but is not limited to workshops relating to fitness, health, safety, rowing technique or in some cases, RCA or a provincial rowing association may make a workshop mandatory.
